Every. Damn. Day.

I'm going to go broke buying ink.

Honestly, my printer is utterly ridiculous. I print about four pages before one of the cartridges needs to be replaced! I even looked up how to reset the cartridges to see if that would work.

Well wouldn't you know it, I have such a new and advanced piece of technology it doesn't even have that option. What joy...

I'm thhhiiiiisssss close to saying "eff it" and selling the damn thing and printing everything at the UPS store for 78¢ a copy.

The only thing that I've found to help extend the cartridge life, surprisingly, was changing the print quality to "best" rather than "normal." I still get color issues towards the bottom of the page, though.

Hopefully you have more luck printing this out than I do!

What printers seem to work for you?

Happy December!

I have been a serious slacker. No printables, no posts, no pictures. Ugh. What am I doing with my life?

Well, for one, I'm working. As in, as much as normal people do in a week in three and a half days. For two, I'm exercising seemingly every day. When I get home and finally eat I just want to sleep, which I don't do. Especially not now that we have this den of pain set up in our living room.

Many thanks to our tri-friends Andrea and Mike for the trainers!

I've missed making printables and posting updates. I hope you've missed me too. Maybe this month I'll see my actual work job become less hectic, but maybe I'll become an astronaut. Both are as likely. Either way, I want to work on being more efficient with my time.

In the meantime, enjoy this Christmas printable featuring Santa's reindeer.

Although I might not feel like I have a lot of free time, I can't complain when I spend it with this handsome guy. Here's us finishing our second 5k, the Troy Turkey Trot.

What have you been up to lately?

Every Single Inch

I can almost pinpoint the exact moment I started to be self-conscious about my weight. It was at an amusement park where a vendor would give you a prize if he guessed one of three things incorrectly. You chose what he had to guess on, birthday, age, or weight. I figured the hardest one is weight, and I was looking to win, so I chose that. The saint he was guessed something like 135. Granted I weighed less in high school, but still. I stepped on the scale and it ballooned to over 180.

I'm convinced he did something to the scale but since then I've compared myself against these rail-thin girls envying their bodies.

Then, at the beginning of this year, I started seriously exercising and improving my overall fitness. Compared to the beginning of my "fitness journey" (which is a ridiculous name for it) I've dropped about twenty pounds. My weight's leveled off and I haven't seen it change much in the last two months.

I can't be mad. I eat pretty much whatever the hell I want. I'm burning the calories riding my bike, running, or playing racquetball four to five times a week. I'd even go as far as to attribute some of the weight plateau to muscle. Because I'm definitely putting it on. My legs are leaner and my face is thinner. It's not like you can see this huge bulk, it's just toned.

As a result, I love my body just a little bit more. I'm more confident in the way I carry myself.

Then I hear awesome songs, like Meghan Trainor's "All About That Base" which reinforce the message that perfect comes in all types of sizes. So, while I may not be a size two, I'm still rockin'.

Every woman goes through days where they nit pick areas they hate about their body. I'm convinced it's normal. At the end of the day though, there's no reason to not love every single inch of it. It's yours. To cherish, to love, and to change if that's what you want. I know I'm strong. I know I'm healthy. I know I'm loved.

What more could you ask for?

Happy September, Happy Labor Day!

Ah September. Welcome, welcome. Thank you for starting me off with a three day weekend.

This month, there's two printables. Mainly because I fell in love with these colors. They remind me of summer and the sea. I just don't want to let go of those vibes just yet as fall slowly creeps in.

I printed them out and placed them together in Ikea frames on my living room mantel. I think the two together (along with those awesome bottles I found!) look great on my September mantel.

The first printable is formatted to fit an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper and I used these fonts: Cupid de Locke, Handy George, KG Call Me Maybe (Skinny)SacramentoPinto NO_04, and KG Heart Doodles.

The second printable is formatted to fit a 5" x 7" piece of paper. I know the PDF looks segmented but it doesn't print that way. No worries!

And just like that we're back...

This month's printable comes from one of my favorite poets, Tyler Knott Gregson. I like his work so much I pre-ordered his book which comes out September 2nd in hardcover! Let it be known that this is the first physical book I'm buying in quite the amount of time. The Kindle ruined me. Best present ever though.

Anyway, I follow him on instagram and one night he posted this picture...

...along with the words featured in today's printable. I love them. Even wrote 'em to the hubbs for our anniversary (3 years!). In honor of the brilliant photo and touching words, I had to put it into a printable so I could read them every day.

The printable is formatted to fit an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper and features the following fonts: KG Hard Candy Solid. KG Tangled Up In You 2. KG Two is Better Than One. KG Eyes Wide Open. KG Flavor and Frames.

Happy May

Now that it's May, can the rain finally stop? It's been an absolute downpour here for the past week. It did let up some and Ryan and I got a bike ride in. Complete with asshole drivers, joy.

As the saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers." I was...inspired? It's not my best, but it's going on my mantel.

New Tunes - Awolnation "All I Need"

I just realized it's been quite some time since I posted new music. I was almost out of commission for a bit because I dropped my phone and shattered the screen. Thankfully, I bend over and pay for insurance. I got a new "refurbished" version of my old phone. The buttons are finicky and not what I'm used to, but there's only 11 months until I can get the newer version. I will be counting down until that day.

You may have heard of Awolnation when they took the radio by storm with "Sail." Their newest album, Megalithic Symphony, has some pretty great songs including "Kill Your Heroes" and today's song, "All I Need." I hope these guys come to my area on tour. Until then I'll keep their album on repeat.

And as a special treat, I made a couple printables. I'm going to get these printed by one of the big box stores so they'll look nice. I have just the spot to put them.

These printables were formatted to fit a 5" x 7" piece of paper. I used the following fonts on each one: CarnevaleeFreakshow.  LTChickenhawk. I used textures from this pack: GrungeRemodelingTextures.

Happy (early) April

I gave up candy. It was a poor choice. But, I think it was a wise one. Confused? Let me explain.

Lent started last month in the beginning of March. My work has a candy drawer, where people bring in left over candy, newly bought candy, etc for the office to enjoy. I've been over-indulging. For example, there were whoppers in the bag. No one likes whoppers. Except for me, apparently. I eat them three three-packs at a time. One day, I did six. So I gave it up.

And now I want M&M's. Let me countdown the days! I know, Sundays don't technically count during lent. But I give it up from Ash Wednesday 'til Easter Sunday. Last year I went vegetarian. Ryan threatened divorce (not really) if I did it again.

Anyway, it's close enough to the first of the month, that means there's a printable for you. It's themed for April's impending holiday and hot damn do I love pastels. It looks awesome on my new mantel. Check it out.

Here's the printable...

This printable was formatted to fit a 5" x 7" piece of paper. I used the following fonts: ReturntoSender. SketchSerif. CarnevaleeFreakshow. Vanessa. BlackBoysonMopeds. I used the following graphics: EasterEgg1. EasterEgg2.

Did you give up anything for lent? Has it been a challenge so far?

Printable Motivation

I am a huge fan of fonts and textures. Especially when kick ass quotes have spectacular ones. Serious, I could lose HOURS of time on the Quotes boards on Pinterest. I dabble, here and there, with making some. And today, you're getting one.

This printable was formatted to fit a 5" x 7" piece of paper. I used the following fonts: KGTwoisBetterThanOne. WaterBrushROB. I used the following textures: Underscore. SpiritSighs.

What are you favorite sections on Pinterest? Do you have a favorite board you pin to?

Happy March

So I'm going to be honest. I'm not quite sure what this blog is. It's supposed to be my everyday life, as per my blog title. But I feel constricted. I have certain days where I'm supposed to post things and sometimes I want to talk about other things. Thus, a change is a comin'. Again.

I'm sure you're indifferent, mainly because there's one follower (hi you!) and a handful of viewers (hello world). Stick with me and I'm sure you'll read a lot more. Hopefully. Maybe. Please?

One thing I'm sticking with is the printable. Because I love 'em. And you may just like them too. This month honors the huge "Irish" holiday this month.

This printable was formatted to fit a normal 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper. I used the following fonts: AYearWithoutRain. FoglihtenNo01. ClipperScriptFat. IndyPimp. CKHandprint. CandyRandy. CinnamonCake. HoneyScript. Lullaby. Shamrock.

Are you Irish? I'm a quarter. Along with a quarter of Dutch, German, and French to round it out. What are some big heritage holidays out there that I don't know about? Are there any?

Did you miss me?

That may be a little creepy. But if you don't know where it's from, I feel like we can't be friends. Not until you watch all three seasons of Sherlock from the BBC. Then you'll get it. And you'll be hooked to quite possibly the best television series, ever. And then you'll be a Cumberlady too.

I realize I'm a few days late, but Happy February! As with the beginning of each month, there's a printable. I have it up on my mantel for simple yet romantic decor. What do you think?

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? I've heard some couples say that they celebrate another day. An old boss said that he let's his wife pick any other day of the year and she can call it whatever she wants, just not Valentine's Day. Whatever you call it, are you doing something lovely in the near, distant, future? I've already got Ryan's present (one point for me for preparedness), I just have to pick up a blank card from a local artist. I'm pretty sure he still hasn't even realized it's less than two weeks away (one point for him on procrastination?).

Naturally this month's printable is holiday inspired. As made up as that holiday may be, it gives me something to look forward to. Because right now, in New York, the weather is abysmal and it looks like the world just gave up. So ugly. And depressing. I either need snow or spring. How about you? How's the weather where you live? I hope it's prettier than what's going on around here. Can I go back to the Caribbean yet?

Happy New Year, Happy January

Well, I hope everyone's new year is going better than mine. Two days in and the hubbs and I both have the flu. Lovely. But the year's only going to get better from here, right? I sure hope so. Especially considering I have a vacation in eight days. EIGHT DAYS.

In light of this year starting a bit rough, I'm sharing a favorite quote of mine. I try to read it whenever I'm in a bad place and it reminds me to keep on keepin' on. I saw it first in an image like this one:

So the one I have for you is formatted for 4" x 6". This would look great with a mellow background paper. I would put it where you need it most. Bedside table, kitchen counter, by the door.

How's your 2014 starting out? Did you make any resolutions this year?

Happy Friday! Safe Travels

Tomorrow, Ryan and I will be making our journey north. I'm so excited to spend the time with his family. This will be our first Christmas spent with them since we've been married. In past years, we'd either go up the week or two before or for a couple days afterwards. But this year, I get to experience a full LaBarge family Christmas and I'm excited. If you're traveling this holiday season, whether it's down the road or across the state, I hope you're safe. You want to make sure you can enjoy yourself once you get there!

Now, my dad is known for his apple pies. He crams about 7-8 apples per 9" pie. It's large. And they're delicious. Word gets around on these pies. Unfortunately, he's been busy. So I baked pies. From scratch. And from those apples from my freezer. Remember those?

I know, my edging technique needs work. You see that lattice technique though, right? I know, the widths vary. But you know what? These are going to be fantastic. How do I know? These are my fourth and fifth pie I've made this baking season. So yea, they're going to get eaten. If not by my in-laws, then definitely by me. Because I. LOVE. APPLE. PIE. I have the ass stomach ache to prove it.

That brings us to your fourth and final printable for December. It's pretty generic, but you can put it on beautiful paper in an equally pretty frame and have something good going on.

Please note that this printable was formatted to fit an 5" x 7" paper.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday. That seems to be a popular thing to say around the office every Friday morning. Maybe because we're all just ready for the week to be over. (I know I'm ready for that on Monday.)

It's getting so close to Christmas and I can smell how close I am to being fully ready (I have some loose Christmas strings that I need to pull together). But, I swear by the end of this weekend I'll be done! I'm really hoping I'll be done.

This Friday's printable comes from the holiday song "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen - We Three Kings" by the Barenaked Ladies featuring Sarah McLachlan. I love their version! I hope you like the printable.

Please note that this printable was formatted to fit an 8" x 10" paper.

Happy Friday!

As I mentioned on Sunday, this month I'll be giving you a new printable every Friday in the spirit of giving. And because I was so excited about Christmas, I went crazy with making them for myself. Without further ado, here ya go.

Please note that this printable was formatted to fit an 8" x 10" paper.

Happy December

I think I've mentioned that this is my absolute favorite time of year. I've been so excited about it, I created a bunch of printables! To share them all, I'll post one each Friday until right before Christmas (four in all). I hope you like this first one. I know, it's ALL over Pinterest, but I had to make my own. I'm in love with some of the fonts I've found and I had to turn it in to a printable.

This one is actually sitting on my mantle right this moment. Definitely a keeper in my book.

What have you done so far for decorating? Anything that's unusual?

Happy November!

November 1st starts my favorite time of the year. I absolutely love the holidays because it means family, fun, and food. (I'm really big on the food part.) Growing up we would put our tree up the day after Thanksgiving, until we started getting real ones. Then I met my husband and I learned his mom put up their (first) tree on November 1st. I didn't even know you could do that! But she did it, so I could do it. Here's what I spent the majority of my day doing.

I'm pretty sure most people think I'm crazy but I really love to decorate for Christmas. It immediately makes me feel at home and it makes the apartment seem so cozy - not just because it's more cluttered than normal either. Fun little story, last year when I was voting, my neighbor was a volunteer signing you in. She told me how beautiful my tree looked from the window. Of course, I thanked her. The woman behind me wasn't as appreciative. She said, "I can't believe you have your tree up already! It's not even Thanksgiving!" I wish I had told her to stuff it.

Even though my house looks like Santa came and ransacked the place, I still have a printable suitable for the rest of you who aren't as ready for Christmas. A friendly little reminder, it's only 52 days away.

When do you start your holiday decorating? When you do, is your theme "go big or go home?"

Happy October!

I can't believe I forgot to post this on the first! I'm so bad at this blog thing. On the other hand. I think this is one of my  best mash ups in terms of layout. The content is a bit of a jumble, but it's all about October. And there's so much more to it than Halloween!

Let me know if you have any suggestions for November. I think my husband is sick of playing the word association game with me. Ha.

Happy September - Happy Wedding Day!

This past week I was Columbus, Ohio for work. I flew back in earlier on Friday because today, September 1st, my cousin is getting married! We've been like sisters since birth, being only two months and a day apart, and I'm her matron of honor. I'm a nervous wreck over speaking in front of family and friends, although I rather like the speech I have prepared. Happy wedding day, Katie and Alex!

But today is also the first day of the month and I didn't want to not give you a printable! This one is really for all of Fall which will be good for the next three or so months. I hope you like it. Don't worry I won't gyp you on October and November.

Later on this week I'll post about my adventures in Columbus. Unfortunately, the hubbs couldn't join me again because school started last Monday for him. The team I was working with is based in Columbus so at night I was on my own. I hope it's not just me, but isn't it always a little awkward walking into a restaurant and saying, "table for one, please?" I managed to not look completely weird though, at least I think.

I have so much to share this week besides our regular posts. Let's hope I find the time to write it all up. In the meantime, have a wonderful and safe Labor Day!

Happy August - Happy Birthday!

Today is August 2, 2013. I know, you could probably tell from the time stamp. But today is my mom's fiftieth birthday. Happy birthday mom! She's always been there for me and I'm proud I get to call her my mom. We're celebrating on Sunday and I'll post some pictures of our cookout.

As I get back into the swing of blogging again. I figure I can start off with cool stuff for you! At the beginning of every month I'm going to put out a printable that you can download, print, and put in a document frame. I have this one on my mantel right now. (I'll even admit I put it out a few days early - but no one would notice so it's all good for me.) I hope you like it because it's nearly impossible to do word association with August. If you have any suggestions for events or words you think of when you think August feel free to leave a comment.

I'm going to try and post 3-4 times a week from now on. Because I know you're that interested in what's happening around here. I mean who wouldn't want to read about a normal life? I've fleshed out ideas for Mondays and Thursdays. Be on the look out for a new post on Monday! I'm truly excited about getting back into things. I hope you are too.
