I am a huge fan of fonts and textures. Especially when kick ass quotes have spectacular ones. Serious, I could lose HOURS of time on the Quotes boards on Pinterest. I dabble, here and there, with making some. And today, you're getting one.

This printable was formatted to fit a 5" x 7" piece of paper. I used the following fonts: KGTwoisBetterThanOne. WaterBrushROB. I used the following textures: Underscore. SpiritSighs.

Books in Review

I want to start by saying I love to read. I've probably read hundreds if not thousands of books. I once heard someone say, "I'd rather read a book than do [XYZ]. And I've read like three books in my life." That made me incredibly sad. To me, books can transport you and make you feel emotions that you're not even experiencing. This pretty much sums up it up:

For the longest time when e-readers came out, I swore up and down that there was nothing like a book. I wouldn't want to switch. Now, it's all I use. For one, the books are cheaper. And two? Well, it's instant gratification when I log into Amazon and one-click order! Terrible for my bank account. Then it's in my Kindle account. What's not to love? Seriously. Don't get me wrong, I still have over a hundred books on my book shelves (I've given several hundred away for others to enjoy), but nothing makes me happier than a new book that I devour. Typically within a day or two. To cut down on the time between buying/ordering a book and actually getting to read it just makes me ecstatic.

So I'm going to share you my opinions on books every now and again. I hope it inspires you to pick up a book, even if it's not one I write about. 

New Tunes - American Authors "Best Day of My Life"

Do you ever wonder about the songs that would be on the soundtrack of your life? I would like to think today's song would be featured. I've had some great memories. A road trip around the northeastern US. A road trip to Colorado. A picnic in the dead of winter in my dorm room. And I couldn't ever forget the day I married Ryan. 

I'm sure I have plenty of great memories ahead of me too. I'll have to add this to my playlist when Ryan and I take another road trip this summer. I'd loved to take two weeks for it but it'll probably end up being just a week or so.

Any ideas of places where I could road trip this summer? What are your favorite places to visit?

New Tunes - Dr. Dog "Heart It Races"

I wasn't kidding when I said the music was speaking to me this week. I've got new songs everywhere. Today's is a cover of a song by a band called Architecture in Helsinki. I think this version is better. But you can YouTube the original and decide for yourself. 

What cover song do you think is better than the original? Did it change the kind of song it was?

New Tunes - John Legend "All of You"

You've heard of Pandora, right? I mean, come on, who hasn't? Basically, you pick a song or artist and it creates an entire radio station around it. It introduces you to new songs, new bands, and possible new music genres. On an old radio station I have, John Legend came up a lot. What can I say, I'm into romantic music. Naturally, when a new song of his came out recently I was ALL. OVER. IT. Dude's got some pipes. And songwriting skills. His wife is one lucky woman. Especially considering he wrote this song for her.

New Tunes - Mako "Our Story"

I was watching a video compilation of some awesome human feats. Think people doing crazy stunts but actually nailing them. Besides the amazing things that people are capable of pulling off, the first song in the video was pretty cool. It's pretty much dance music that'd be good to get you going some mornings. 

She's Crafty - Toothpick Jar

As much as I love to bake, I do not have a nice toothpick holder. It's been a box for the past two years. And whenever I want a toothpick the box decides to give me twenty. It could be that the box isn't really conducive to upright storage, but hey, I have next to zero kitchen storage. Here's the offender...

I had stumbled upon an awesome pin for matchstick storage and thought it would work perfectly for my toothpick problem. I gathered up the following stuff to start off my project...

1 Crystal Jelly Mason Jar with Band

1 Scrap of Paper

3 1/2" Hole Punch

1/8" Hole Punch (not pictured)

Toothpicks

Scissors

Pencil

Now, I recently had a 50% off coupon for Michael's and I used it on that huge hole punch here. It was originally $24.99 but with that coupon I stole it for $12.50. I freaking love coupons. Seriously, I don't shop at Hobby Lobby without pulling their always-available 40%-off-one-item coupon. If you have a Hobby Lobby around you, I strongly urge you to pull up that bad boy.

Onto the good stuff...

Step 1. I took my awesome new hole punch and made one. It's freaking huge! Unfortunately, the punch was too big for the jar so I took my pencil and the jar lid to trace the size on the other side and then used my scissors to trim it down to size.

Step 2. I packed the most toothpicks I could into that tiny jar. I'm guessing I got a couple hundred jammed in there. (Ha ha. Get it? "Jammed" in there? Because it's a jam jar? Man, I crack myself up.)

Step 3. I used my 1/8" hole punch to make a hole right in the middle of a flower.

Step 4. Screw the band on the jar and find yourself with a toothpick jar. 

Overall, I think this project was a definite HIT. It looks awesome and now my baking tool drawer isn't full of wayward toothpicks. Think you might tackle this one? What other small stuff could you store in those jars?
